These were for a tax on newspapers that was collected by the Post Office.

First Issue 1853

This issue was also used in Lombardy Venetia, despite the use of a different currency.

2 kreuzer green SG J15. Postmarked in Milan, then part of Lombardy-Venetia

Second Issue, 1858

Small shield type.

1 kreuzer blue SG J30a.

2 kreuzer brown SG J31.

There is also a very rare 4 kreuzer brown.

Third Issue, 1877

Large shield type.

1 kreuzer blue SG J67.

2 kreuzer brown SG J68.

Fourth Issue, 1890

1 kreuzer brown SG J76.

2 kreuzer green SG J77.

There is also a scarce 25k carmine in a different design.
